Our Approach
At Prosperity Health Services, we believe effective professional support starts with understanding the individual.
Every person has different circumstances, strengths, abilities, challenges and goals. For this reason, we take a person-centred approach and tailor our services to the individual’s needs and the purpose of the referral.
Depending on the service required, this may involve considering psychological wellbeing, mental health, disability-related needs, functional capacity, employment history, vocational interests, workplace circumstances and personal goals.
Our aim is to provide professional services that are respectful, practical, evidence-informed and relevant to each person’s circumstances.
Where appropriate, we also work collaboratively with families, carers, GPs, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, support coordinators, rehabilitation providers, employers, insurers and other professional referrers.
Our Psychology and Mental Health Services
Our psychology services support people experiencing psychological, emotional and mental health concerns. Depending on individual circumstances, our services may include psychological assessment, counselling, therapy and psychological support.
We provide services for people experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, emotional difficulties, life changes and other mental health challenges. Our psychologists may also provide professional assessments where a clearer understanding of psychological functioning, mental health or functional impact is required.
NDIS Psychology and Assessments
Prosperity Health Services is a registered NDIS provider supporting NDIS participants and people with disability-related support needs.
We work with participants, families, carers, support coordinators, plan managers and other professionals where our services are appropriate to the participant’s circumstances.
Our NDIS-related services may include:
- NDIS psychology
- Psychological assessments
- Functional assessments
- Functional Capacity Assessments
- Mental health assessments
- Disability-related assessments
- Other assessment and support services relevant to the individual’s needs
Our approach is to understand the person’s circumstances and provide professional services that are relevant to their goals, functional needs and support requirements.
Mental Health Assessments
A mental health assessment can provide a structured understanding of a person’s psychological and emotional wellbeing and how their circumstances may be affecting everyday functioning.
Our mental health assessment services may be appropriate where an individual, professional referrer, insurer, rehabilitation provider or other organisation requires a professional assessment of psychological functioning, mental health or support needs.
Where a formal report is required, the assessment and report are tailored to the purpose of the referral and the information required.
ADHD Assessments
Prosperity Health Services provides professional assessment services for individuals who may require an assessment for ADHD.
An ADHD assessment may help provide a clearer understanding of attention, executive functioning, behaviour and other areas relevant to the referral.
Where appropriate, assessment findings can assist individuals and referring professionals in understanding the person’s needs and identifying suitable support pathways.
Functional Capacity Assessments
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) can provide information about how a person’s physical, psychological, cognitive or other functional limitations may affect their ability to manage everyday activities and participate in areas of life such as work, education and community participation.
Our assessment services can be relevant to NDIS participants, people with disability, rehabilitation providers and other professional referrers, depending on the purpose of the assessment.
Each assessment is tailored to the individual’s circumstances and the requirements of the referral.
Vocational Assessments
Our vocational assessment services help individuals understand their employment options and identify realistic vocational pathways.
Depending on the purpose of the referral, a vocational assessment may consider:
- Education and qualifications
- Employment history
- Skills and experience
- Interests and preferences
- Functional considerations
- Employment goals
- Transferable skills
- Barriers to employment
- Potential vocational pathways
Vocational assessments may be relevant to individuals, NDIS participants, rehabilitation providers, employers, insurers and other professional referrers.
Workplace Assessments
Our workplace assessment services can help identify barriers to employment and consider appropriate workplace adjustments or vocational options.
Depending on the purpose of the referral, an assessment may consider the relationship between an individual’s functional abilities, psychological circumstances and the requirements of their workplace or proposed employment.
Our workplace and vocational services can support individuals, employers, rehabilitation providers, insurers and other professionals involved in employment and return-to-work pathways.
Workers Compensation Psychology and Workplace Services
Prosperity Health Services provides services relevant to Workers Compensation and workplace rehabilitation matters. Where applicable, Workers Compensation psychological services are provided through appropriately qualified SIRA-approved psychologists.
We can work with relevant professionals involved in a person’s treatment, rehabilitation and return-to-work pathway, including employers, rehabilitation providers, insurers, case managers and other referring professionals.
Our broader vocational and workplace services can also assist individuals who are experiencing psychological or functional barriers to employment or require professional assessment relating to their capacity, vocational options or return to work.
Counselling and Therapy
Our counselling services provide professional support for individuals experiencing emotional difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship or life challenges and other circumstances affecting their wellbeing.
We aim to provide a safe, respectful and confidential environment where individuals can discuss their concerns, develop appropriate strategies and work towards meaningful goals.
The type and focus of counselling or psychological support will depend on the individual’s circumstances and the purpose of the service.
Vocational Counselling
Vocational counselling can help individuals explore career and employment options, identify strengths and interests, establish realistic employment goals and make informed decisions about their future.
Our vocational services may be particularly relevant to people who are considering a change in career, returning to employment, experiencing barriers to work or seeking guidance about suitable vocational pathways.
